How many panels do I need?
Each curtain is sold as one panel, 39" wide. For a full, gathered look — the way curtains look in photographs — you want roughly twice your window's width in fabric. These are narrow panels, so most windows need two or three.
| Your window width | Panels to order |
|---|---|
| Up to 35" | 2 panels |
| 35" – 55" | 3 panels |
| 55" – 74" (sliding doors) | 4 panels |
A single panel works well for narrow windows, or when you only want a curtain on one side.
Choosing your length
Measure from the top of your curtain rod down to where you want the curtain to end, then pick the closest size:
| Size | Best for |
|---|---|
| 39" × 79" | Floor length with standard 8ft ceilings |
| 39" × 106" | High ceilings, or a soft pool of fabric on the floor |
Designer tip: mount your rod 4–6" above the window frame and extend it 3–6" past each side. The window looks taller and wider, and the curtains clear the glass when open so you keep all your light.
