Which size actually covers my sofa?

Measure the seat cushions, not the whole sofa — that is the part taking the damage. Then add a foot or so for the drape down the front, because a cover that stops at the cushion edge slides off the first time somebody sits down hard.

Choose If this sounds like you
51" × 71" An armchair, a reading chair, or the one end of the sectional the dog has claimed as his.
59" × 71" A two-seater, or a loveseat in a snug where the sofa is the only place anyone sits.
71" × 71" A standard three-seater, and you want the sides tucked rather than hanging loose.
71" × 79" A deep-seated sofa you also nap on, so you want enough length to pull over your feet.
71" × 91" A long sectional, or a sofa bed you want covered top to floor with no pale gap showing.

If two sizes are close, size up. Excess tucks into the crease; a shortfall never stops annoying you.

Will it stay put, and how do I wash zebra stripes without wrecking them?

Fleece grips upholstery far better than a woven throw does, but it is a cover, not a fitted slipcover. On smooth surfaces it needs tucking. Here is where it behaves and where it wanders.

Works on Needs tucking, or avoid
Fabric sofas, linen weave, chenille, corduroy, bouclé Smooth leather and faux leather, where it slides toward the floor
Beds, as a top layer over a comforter Recliner mechanisms, where loose fabric can catch in the hinge
Armchairs, window seats, the back of a car seat Anywhere near an open flame or a heater vent

Wash cold on a gentle cycle, on its own or with other soft goods. Tumble low or line dry. The step people skip: no fabric softener. Softener coats fleece fibers and flattens the pile, which is exactly the thing you bought it for. Skip it and the stripes stay crisp for years.

The sofa stops being the thing you apologize for when people come over.

Every shared sofa reaches the same point. One cushion is darker than the others. There is a patch on the arm where a hand always lands. The dog has a spot, and the spot has a color of its own now. You have already tried the folded throw that slid off, and the fitted cover that never fit. This one goes over the whole thing in a single motion, and the zebra striping does something a plain cover cannot — it hides everything underneath it while looking like a deliberate decision rather than damage control.

Why the fleece pile is doing the real work

A thin printed cover reads as a bedsheet the moment it is on furniture — the pattern sits flat, every wrinkle shows, and it looks like something you threw on in a hurry. Fleece has depth. The pile catches light differently along each stripe, so the zebra pattern has a bit of shadow and movement instead of looking printed on. That depth is also what stops it creeping: the raised surface catches on woven upholstery instead of gliding across it.

It matters over time, too. Fleece does not fray at a cut edge the way woven fabric does, so the hem stays intact through repeated washing. And because the pile is short rather than shaggy, hair sits on the surface and lifts off with a quick shake outside instead of working its way into the weave. That single detail is the difference between a cover you wash weekly and one you shake out on the step and put straight back.

Choosing your color

  • White — the highest-contrast version, black stripes on a bright ground. It reads graphic and modern, and it lightens a dark room fast. Choose it if the sofa is charcoal or navy and the room needs something to bounce light around.
  • Beige — the quiet one. Warm sand ground with soft brown striping, so the pattern is there without shouting. This is the pick for anyone who wants the sofa covered but does not want the sofa to become the loudest object in the house.
  • Orange — a warm rust-toned ground that turns the sofa into the color anchor of the room. Works when everything else is neutral and the space has gone a bit flat, especially against wood floors and cream walls.
  • Brown — deep and grounded, the most forgiving of the four for real daily traffic. Muddy paws and dropped coffee are far less obvious here. The choice for a family room that is used, not admired.

What You're Getting

  • One Wild Stripes zebra fleece sofa cover in your chosen Colour and Size, ready to use straight out of the packaging
  • Zebra striping in four colorways — White, Beige, Orange and Brown, each with the stripe pattern running the length of the cover
  • Five sizes from 51" × 71" up to 71" × 91", covering armchairs through long sectionals
  • Soft fleece with a short pile that grips woven upholstery instead of sliding across it
  • Edges that will not fray, so repeated washing does not leave you with a shedding hem
  • Doubles as a bed throw or a floor layer when the sofa is not the problem that week
  • Machine wash cold, gentle cycle; tumble low or line dry
  • No fabric softener — it flattens the pile and dulls the stripe contrast
  • Shake out weekly to lift pet hair off the surface rather than washing every time
