Will it work on my kitchen floor?
Almost certainly — the thing to check is how smooth the floor is, not what it's made of. Kitchens are the one room where a mat has to cope with dropped oil, wet feet and a chair being shoved backwards, so it's worth two minutes of thought.

Lay it flat and give it a day or two to settle out of its packing folds before you judge it. Shake it outside weekly, vacuum in the direction of the pile, and blot spills rather than rubbing them. Blotting is the step people skip — rubbing a splash of olive oil spreads it into a halo three times the size.

Kitchen floors are chosen for wiping down, not for standing on. Tile is cold, vinyl is hard, and both of them mean that the ordinary business of washing up or waiting for something to reduce is spent balanced on one hip with the other foot on the cupboard kickboard. - Midnight — deep and near-black, with the pattern showing as tonal shifts rather than contrast. The forgiving one. In a kitchen with dark cabinetry or a dark benchtop it grounds the floor; in a pale kitchen it acts like a deliberate anchor rather than an accident.
- Mocha — warm brown, the middle path. Sits comfortably against timber floors and oak cabinet fronts and doesn't fight a busy splashback. If you can't decide, this is the one that goes wrong least often.
- Stone Mist — soft pale grey, the lightest of the three. Best in a kitchen that already has white or grey cabinets and enough daylight to carry it. Choose this one if you want the mat to soften the floor without announcing itself, and accept it'll want shaking out more often.
