What happens to the tassels over time?
Tassels are the best and most fragile thing about a woven throw. Everything that goes wrong with them comes from either a washing machine or a cat.

Wash cold on a gentle cycle, on its own, and dry on low or lay it flat. The step people skip: finger-combing the tassels while they are still damp. Do that once and they dry straight and separated. Let them dry tangled and they set into little knots that never fully come out.
If a tassel loosens, tie it back rather than trimming it — a cut fringe unravels further along the edge.
