Which size fits my shower?

Measure the flat base of your shower or tub, not the outside of the enclosure. A mat that runs to the edge and curves up the side loses contact at the corners, and lost contact is where a mat starts creeping.

Choose If this sounds like you
Small(15"×27") A compact corner shower or a small ensuite, where you stand in essentially one spot the whole time.
Medium(20"×32") A standard walk-in shower or a normal bathtub. This is the one most bathrooms need, and the one to pick if you are guessing.
Large(24"×35") A wide shower base, or an older relative's bathroom where the mat needs to cover the whole area you might step onto, not just where the water lands.

If you are between two sizes, take the smaller one. A mat that fits inside the flat base grips better than one squeezed in at an angle.

Will it actually stay put on my shower floor?

Suction needs a smooth, flat, non-porous surface. That is the whole rule. Nothing about the mat changes if the floor cannot take a seal, so check what is under your feet before you buy.

Works on Avoid
Acrylic and fibreglass shower bases, enamel and cast iron tubs, large-format smooth tiles, glazed ceramic, sealed stone with a smooth face Textured or anti-slip moulded shower trays, small mosaic tile with lots of grout lines, unsealed natural stone, pebble floors — air escapes through the texture and nothing seals

To fit: clean the floor properly, wet both the floor and the underside of the mat, lay it down and press across the whole surface with your palms working outward. The step people skip is degreasing first. Conditioner and body wash leave an invisible film, and suction cups on a soapy floor will hold for a day and then let go. Wash the base with hot water and dish soap once before the first fitting.

You stop bracing against the wall every time you close your eyes to rinse.

Everyone in a slippery shower develops the same small habits without noticing. One hand on the tile whenever you tilt your head back. Turning around slowly and deliberately, in stages. Shaving one leg while gripping the tap. None of it feels like fear, it just feels like how showering works. Then you use a shower with grip underfoot and realise how much low-level attention you had been spending on staying upright.

The built-in scrubber is the part that changes your routine

Grip is the reason you buy a shower mat. The bristled scrubber section is the reason this one earns its place, and it solves something specific: washing your own feet properly requires either balancing on one leg in a wet shower or sitting down on the floor of it. Most people do neither, and heels get ignored for months at a time. A fixed scrubber panel means you clean the soles of your feet standing flat, with both feet on the ground, which is the only version of this that anyone actually keeps doing.

The other thing that decides whether a shower mat is any good is drainage. A mat that seals flat against the base traps a layer of water underneath, and that trapped layer is exactly where pink and black mildew grows. Drainage holes let water through to the floor and out to the drain, so the underside dries between showers instead of staying permanently wet. It is also why lifting the mat once a week is a thirty-second rinse rather than a job.

  • Grey — the safe default. Disappears against most shower bases and hides soap scum between cleans better than pale colours.
  • Brown — warm neutral, suits timber-look and stone-look bathrooms where grey reads cold.
  • Green — soft muted tone, the one people pick when the bathroom is otherwise entirely white and slightly clinical.
  • Blue — the most classic bathroom colour and the easiest with chrome tapware and white tile.
  • Pink — the warmest option, and the usual pick for a kids' bathroom or a bathroom you actually want to look cheerful.
  • Small(15"×27") — compact corner showers and small ensuites.
  • Medium(20"×32") — standard showers and bathtubs. The size most people need.
  • Large(24"×35") — wide shower bases, and bathrooms where full coverage matters more than a neat fit.

What You're Getting

  • One SafeGrip shower mat in your chosen Colour and Size
  • Suction base that grips smooth acrylic, enamel, cast iron and glazed tile
  • Textured top surface for grip underfoot when the mat is wet and soapy
  • Built-in bristle scrubber panel so you can wash the soles of your feet standing flat

  • Five colours and three sizes, covering small ensuites through to wide walk-in bases
  • Care: lift and rinse both sides weekly, and let the underside dry before refitting
  • Not suitable for textured shower trays, mosaic tile or unsealed stone — suction cups cannot seal against those surfaces
