Decide what it's for first — sofa throw or bed cover. They're very different sizes and it's the most common thing people get wrong.

For a bed, go one size up from what the mattress measures. A throw that only just reaches the edges looks undersized once someone's slept under it.

Care: machine washable. It's 100% cotton, so expect it to soften over the first few washes rather than out of the packet.
