    Which print should I pick?

There's no wrong answer here — the cut is the same across all five, so this is purely about what you want to look at while you're at the sink. The difference is how loud the print is.

Choose If this sounds like you
Blossom Bunny or Daisy Delight You want the sweet one. These are the aprons people buy as a gift, and the ones a child will ask to borrow.
Meadow Bliss or Cherry Charm You cook properly and you'd rather the splashes disappeared. A busy print does that better than anything plain.
Blush Stripe You want soft color without a motif — the one that still looks fine if somebody comes to the door mid-cook.

Two in rotation is the sensible number, so one can be in the wash without you cooking in your good shirt.

Will it survive real cooking, or is it decorative?

It's built to be worn and washed, but how you treat a stain in the first ten minutes decides whether it stays. Most aprons are ruined by heat, not by food.

    Works on Avoid
Rinsing a fresh splash in cold water at the sink, straight away Hot water on a grease or tomato mark, which sets it into the print for good
Cool machine wash with the ties loosely knotted so they don't wrap around everything Bleach — it will take the color out of the print before it takes out the stain
Line drying, or a low tumble, then a warm iron if you want it crisp Hot drying, which shrinks the ties and fades the print faster than the washing does

The step people skip: knotting the ties before it goes in the machine. Untied, they wind themselves through everything else in the drum and come out creased into a rope.

Stop cooking in the clothes you're about to go out in.

The apron problem is never that you don't own one. It's that the one you own is a stiff dark thing hanging on the back of the pantry door that you can't be bothered to put on, so you end up frying onions in a jumper and finding the evidence the next morning. An apron you actually like the look of gets worn, and that's the entire point of it.

Coverage is the thing that matters

An apron earns its place by covering the two spots that get hit: the chest, where oil spits reach, and the thighs, where you wipe your hands without thinking. A bib front with a neck strap and waist ties covers both, and the ties mean it sits where you want it rather than where the manufacturer decided your waist was. Tie it at the front if you like a shorter loop; tie it at the back if you want it flat.

Pockets are the other quiet upgrade. Somewhere to put a wet spoon, a phone, a folded recipe, or the twist tie you're going to need again in four minutes — it's the difference between an apron and a piece of cloth.

    The five styles

    • Blossom Bunny — the namesake. Bunnies and blossom, gentle coloring, the one that looks like it belongs in a bright kitchen with a window over the sink.
    • Meadow Bliss — scattered field flowers on a fuller ground. Busiest of the five, and consequently the most forgiving when the pasta sauce goes rogue.
    • Blush Stripe — no motif, just soft stripe. Reads more grown-up and works in a kitchen where everything else is plain.
    • Daisy Delight — open daisies with plenty of space around them. Cheerful without being childish, and the easiest to give as a present.
    • Cherry Charm — small red fruit on a light ground. The one with a bit of retro to it, and the strongest color hit of the set.
