Which colour, when all three are bold?

Every version is the same multicolour zigzag — the option name tells you which shade dominates the palette. So the question isn't which is loudest, it's which one your sofa can take.

Choose If this sounds like you
Malachite Green You have wood furniture, plants, and a room that reads earthy. Green is the one that looks like it grew there rather than arrived in a box.
Wine Red Your living room is grey or charcoal and goes cold from October to March. Deep red is the fastest way to make a room feel heated without touching the thermostat.
Yellow Your room is white, cream or beige and you have finally admitted it's boring. This is the one that makes people look at the sofa.

Then pick a size: 50"×60" for a chair or one person, 51"×79" if it's going along the back of a full sofa.

What happens to the tassels in the wash?

They survive, provided they aren't left loose to tangle around everything else in the drum. Tassels are the part of a knit throw that fails first, and it's almost always a laundry problem rather than a wear problem.

Works on Avoid
A cool gentle cycle, washed on its own. Combing the tassels straight with your fingers while damp. Drying flat. Storing it folded rather than hung by a corner. Washing it with zips, hooks or buttons — tassels wrap around them and pull. High-heat drying. Bleach on the multicolour zigzag. Yanking a knot out of a tassel.

To wash: cool gentle cycle on its own, dry flat, and while it's still damp run your fingers down each tassel to straighten it. That last step is the one everyone skips, and it's the whole difference between tassels that hang in a clean fringe and tassels that dry into a frizz you can't fix afterwards.

If the knit picks up a pull, work it back through from the reverse rather than trimming it. Cutting a knit thread is how a small pull becomes a hole.

The room stops being beige the moment this goes over the sofa arm.

Neutral living rooms are a trap. Grey sofa, cream walls, pale rug — individually all sensible, collectively a room with nothing to look at, and adding a cushion or two never quite fixes it because they're too small to register. A large multicolour zigzag throw is the one move that does. It's big enough to change the temperature of the whole room, it costs less than repainting, and if you get sick of it you fold it up and the room goes back to how it was.

Multicolour Zigzag Tasseled Knit Throw in use over a sofa

Knitted zigzag, and why that's more forgiving than a print

The zigzag here is knitted in — the colour changes because the yarn changes, not because a pattern was printed over a plain cloth. Two things follow from that. The first is that the pattern can't wear off, crack along a fold or fade unevenly where the sun hits the sofa arm. The second is texture: a knitted chevron has physical ridges, so the throw catches light along the zigzag lines and looks different from across the room than it does up close. A knit also drapes in a way a woven throw doesn't. It has give, so it follows the shape of a sofa arm or a pair of legs instead of sitting on top like a sheet of card. The tasselled edge finishes it — a raw-edged knit reads as unfinished, and the fringe is what makes it look like an object rather than a length of fabric.

The two sizes, honestly

  • 50"×60" — near-square. This is the armchair throw and the one-person blanket. Over the back of a reading chair the tassels hang at about seat height, which is the proportion you want.
  • 51"×79" — almost the same width, over two feet longer. Runs the length of a three-seater sofa back, or covers a single bed with the fringe hanging off the end. Buy this if the throw is meant to be seen rather than just used.

What You're Getting

  • One Multicolour Zigzag Tasseled Knit Throw in your chosen Colour — Malachite Green, Wine Red or Yellow — and Size
  • Two sizes: 50"×60" for a chair or one person, 51"×79" for a full sofa back or a single bed
  • Knitted zigzag built from the yarn itself, so the pattern can't crack, fade off or blur
  • Ridged chevron texture that reads differently up close than from across the room
  • Tasseled edging on the ends, finishing the throw rather than leaving a raw knit edge
  • Knit drape — it follows the shape of a sofa arm instead of sitting stiff on top of it
  • Care: cool gentle wash on its own, dry flat, comb the tassels straight while damp
  • Avoid: washing it alongside zips or hooks, high-heat drying, and bleach
