Will it actually get under the rim?
The reason old toilet brushes stop working is not the bristles — it is that a straight round head cannot reach the curve under the rim where the staining starts. This is what it handles and what it does not.

The long handle is the other half of it: enough reach to work under the rim from a standing position, with your hand well clear of the water.
