Which color, given it will be on the table every day?

All five are the same cloth with the same leafline embroidery — the stitching is tonal, so the color you pick decides how visible the pattern is. On the pale shades it reads as texture. On the deeper ones it reads as a defined line.

Choose If this sounds like you
Blush Rose The table sits in a bright room and you want it to feel warm at breakfast rather than formal at dinner.
Sage Leaf You have plants on the windowsill and green somewhere in the kitchen already. The embroidery and the color agree with each other here.
Dusty Sky Everything else in the room is warm — oak, brass, terracotta — and it needs one cool thing to stop it going sepia.
Ivory Cream You want the classic. The embroidery shows purely as raised texture, and every plate you own will look right on it.
Wheat Linen The table is used constantly and you would rather crumbs and a bit of tea did not announce themselves before you have cleared up.

A round table is seen from every angle at once, so the color matters more here than on a rectangle pushed against a wall.

Will it sit flat on my table, or slide around?

Round cloths behave differently to rectangular ones, and it catches people out. There are no corners to weigh the fabric down, so the drop is even the whole way round — which looks better, but means there is nothing anchoring it if the table is smaller than the cloth by a long way.

    Works on Avoid
Round dining and kitchen tables, round side tables, pedestal tables, and a round garden table brought inside for the winter. Measure your tabletop across the widest point before ordering. Hot pans placed directly on it — a cloth is not heat protection. Bleach, which will strip the color before it lifts a stain. Ironing directly over the embroidery, which crushes the raised stitching flat.

Machine wash cool, then hang it while still damp and let the weight pull the creases out. If you do iron it, do it face down on a towel so the stitching sinks into the pile instead of being pressed flat — that is the step people skip, and it is why embroidered cloths lose their texture after a year.

A round table that finally looks like it was chosen, not inherited.

Round tables are awkward to dress. Placemats look like coasters on them, runners make no sense with no ends to run to, and a bare top means you spend your life wiping rings off the same three spots where everyone puts their mug. A round cloth is the only thing that actually fits the shape — it turns the table into one continuous surface, gives you a soft place to set a hot mug down without thinking about it, and hides the scratch from whenever somebody dragged a casserole dish across it.

Embroidery is what makes a plain cloth worth having

A single-color tablecloth has one difficult job: not looking like a bedsheet. Printing a pattern on it solves that but creates a new problem, because a print will crack along the fold lines where the cloth is stored and go pale where it is washed most. Embroidery does not have that failure mode. The leafline here is stitched into the fabric, so it survives every wash intact, and because it stands slightly proud of the surface it changes with the light through the day — barely there at noon, clearly drawn under a low lamp in the evening. That is also why the tonal coloring works. You do not need contrast when the pattern casts its own shadow.

How the five read in a room

    • Blush Rose — warm and soft. Flatters white china, and stops a grey kitchen feeling like an office kitchen.
    • Sage Leaf — muted green. The most natural pairing with the leafline stitching, and easy alongside wood and plants.
    • Dusty Sky — pale blue with grey in it. Cools down a warm room and looks best in daylight rather than under candles.
    • Ivory Cream — the neutral that never argues with anything. Here the embroidery is texture only, which is the most restrained version of this cloth.
    • Wheat Linen — warm sand. The most practical of the five in a house where the table is genuinely in use all day.

    What You're Getting

    • One Leafline Embroidered Round Tablecloth in your chosen color
    • Five colors — Blush Rose, Sage Leaf, Dusty Sky, Ivory Cream and Wheat Linen

    • Tonal stitching that shifts between texture and pattern depending on the light
    • Machine washable — cool wash, no bleach
    • Hang it damp and the creases drop out without ironing
    • If you must iron, press it face down on a towel so the raised stitching is not crushed
