Most taper holders disappear once the candle's gone out. This one doesn't. It's a single tube of ceramic tied into a loose knot, with one end turned up to hold the candle — so it reads as a small sculpture on the shelf during the day and a candlestick at dinner.

Each holder is made from ceramic and finished in a matte-look cream glaze flecked with small dark specks, so it has the handmade feel of stoneware without looking rustic. The cup at the top is sized for a standard taper candle. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
