Is 27"×63" the right shape for what I want it for?
There is one size here, and it is deliberately long rather than wide. That proportion is the difference between a towel you take to the beach and a towel you dry your back with. At 63 inches it runs the length of most people lying down, so it works as a ground towel on sand without your ankles hanging off the end. At 27 inches across it is narrow enough to wrap and tuck at the chest, and to hang on a normal bathroom rail without folding it in three.
