Do tufted mats shed all over the bathroom floor?
A little at first, then not at all — and how you handle the first two weeks decides which. New tufted pile always releases some loose fibre; vacuum or shake it out early and it settles quickly instead of going in the wash and lint-bombing your towels.

Air dry flat rather than over a rail, so the pile dries standing up. The step people skip: that first shake-out before it ever goes in the machine. Do it and you'll never find tufted fibre welded to a dark bath towel.

The tell is the hallway. A flat woven mat has one plane of fabric touching the water. Tufting also builds the pattern out of the pile itself. The flowers are raised, so the design has shadow and depth — it doesn't fade the way a surface print does, because it isn't a print. It's structure.
