Will it come out of the wash a crinkled mess?
It will come out crinkled, and that is the point. Muslin is a loose, gauzy weave — the pucker is the texture, not damage. What you should avoid is anything that flattens or fuses it.

The step people skip: take it out of the dryer while it is still faintly damp and shake it once, hard. That single shake does more for how it hangs than any amount of folding afterwards.

- Khaki — a soft, dusty olive-tan. Disappears into a room with wood and rattan in it, and hides tea rings better than anything else here.
- Dark Brown — the deepest shade of the set. For darker rooms and leather sofas, where a pale throw would look like a dropped towel.
- Pink — a proper warm rose. Reads as colour, not as pastel.
- Brown — mid-tone and earthy, the safe pick if you already own too much grey and want out.
- Mint Green — cool and pale green. Good in a bright bedroom that gets morning light.
- Light Pink — the barely-there version of the pink, closer to a neutral in practice.
- Grey — goes with everything you already own, which is exactly why most people choose it.
- White — the hotel-bed pick. Best on a made bed, worst under a dog.
