Gauze looks delicate — is it going to hold up?
Cotton gauze is not fragile; it's open. The two get confused because it's light and you can hold it up to the window and see through it, but the construction is layered and it takes washing better than most heavier blankets.

Cool wash, low tumble, and here's the step everyone skips: don't iron it. Gauze is supposed to have that crinkled, slightly puckered surface — it's what gives the fabric loft and softness. Press it flat and you crush exactly the texture you paid for, and it takes several washes to come back.
