Which size fits my sofa?
Measure your sofa across the back, from the outside of one arm to the outside of the other, and match that to the second number. Every size here is 71" deep, so the depth is already handled — you are only choosing length. Measure with a tape, not by eye: sofas are always wider than people guess.
| Choose | If this sounds like you |
|---|---|
| 71" × 71" | An armchair, a recliner, or a small two-seater in a flat. Also the one to buy if you only want to protect the seat someone actually sits in. |
| 71" × 102" | A standard two- to three-seater — the sofa most living rooms have. The size most people are here for. |
| 71" × 118" | A generous three-seater, or a three-seater where you want proper overhang tucking down the back and sides rather than a cover pulled tight. |
| 71" × 134" | A long four-seater or one side of a large L-shape. Buy this if you'd rather have too much fabric to tuck than not enough. |
If you're between two sizes, take the longer one. Excess tucks away invisibly; a shortfall shows on every photo.
Will it slide off every time someone sits down?
A draped cover stays put because of tuck, not because of grip. Fabric pushed firmly into the crease where the seat meets the back is what anchors it; a cover simply laid over the top will migrate within a day, and that's true of every cover of this kind.
| Works on | Avoid |
|---|---|
| Fabric sofas, armchairs and daybeds with a defined seat-to-back crease; sofas with removable cushions you can tuck around | Slick leather with no crease to tuck into, fully fixed one-piece seats, and hot tumble drying |
Machine wash cold on gentle, air dry. The step people skip: lifting the seat cushions and tucking underneath them, not just behind them. Ten seconds of extra tucking is the difference between a cover that stays flat for a week and one you're straightening twice a day.
The sofa the dog sleeps on stops being the reason you won't have people over.
Sofas rarely die — they just get embarrassing. The frame is fine, the cushions are fine, and there's a dark patch on the left seat, a bleached stripe where the sun hits, and a mark from a spilled coffee in 2022. Replacing the whole thing over that is absurd, and living with it is annoying, which is exactly the gap a good cover fills.

Why reversible is the feature that actually matters
Most sofa covers give you one face. When that face has today's spill on it, the sofa is out of action until laundry day. Reversible means you flip it, the room looks intentional again in fifteen seconds, and the wash can wait for the weekend — which in a house with kids or a dog is the difference between a cover you use and one that lives in a cupboard.
The second thing reversibility buys you is two rooms from one purchase. One side is the patterned face doing the decorating; the other gives you a change without a second cover and without committing your living room to a floral for the next three years. Wear also spreads across two faces instead of one, so the whole thing lasts longer than a single-sided cover getting the same use.
The three styles in a real room
- Vine — trailing botanical lines rather than big blooms. The quietest of the three: it reads as texture from across the room and only shows as a pattern up close, so it suits a living room that already has a rug and curtains doing work.
- Sea of Flowers — dense, all-over floral. The most decorative option and the best at disguising a tired sofa, because a busy pattern hides both the shape underneath and the odd mark on top.
- Mediterranean — a warmer, more graphic take with a coastal feel. Sits well with terracotta, timber and white walls, and it's the one that looks least like a cover and most like the sofa was always upholstered that way.
