Will a jacquard weave snag or pill?
Jacquard is woven, not printed or tufted, so there's no pile to shed and no loops standing proud of the surface. The thing to actually watch is what you wash it with.

To wash: cool gentle cycle, on its own, then tumble low or hang it over two rails so the weight is spread. The step people skip is that last bit — a wet cotton blanket hung over a single thin line takes the whole weight on one crease line, and that's what stretches a blanket out of square permanently.
If a thread pulls, don't cut it. Ease it back through from the reverse with a blunt needle and the weave closes over.

Bedrooms go flat in a specific way: plain duvet, plain sheets, and nothing on top, so the whole room reads as unfinished no matter how tidy it is. Jacquard is why the floral still looks good in three years
A printed blanket is a plain cloth with a design stamped on it. Wash it enough and the print softens at the edges, then it cracks along the fold lines, and eventually you can see the base fabric coming through. Jacquard doesn't work that way. The Moroccan floral is built on the loom — the pattern is made from the threads themselves, which is why you can see it from the reverse side too, usually in inverted tones. That has two consequences. It cannot fade off, because there's no layer to fade off. And it has physical texture: the florals sit slightly raised against the ground, so the blanket catches light differently depending on where you're standing. Cotton then does the rest, because a cotton jacquard is breathable in a way a polyester throw simply isn't — you can sleep under it in August without waking up damp.
The two sizes, in practice
- 59"×79" — the throw size. Over the arm of a sofa it hangs to about seat height, and it's the size one person can wrap fully around themselves without dragging a corner on the floor. Also the one to buy if it's going at the foot of a bed as a folded band rather than a full cover.
- 79"×91" — the bed size. Covers a double or queen with a drop on each side, so the pattern is what you see when you walk into the room. Heavy enough as a top layer to make a duvet feel like it has weight to it in autumn.
