Which size — the sofa one or the bed one?

Neither is the “better” blanket; they are two different jobs. One person under a blanket needs less than you think. Two people under a blanket need more than you think, because the fabric has to cross the gap between them as well as cover them both.

Choose If this sounds like you
59" × 79" One person, one armchair or one end of the sofa. Long enough that your feet are still covered when you stretch out, and it folds down small enough to live on the arm rather than in a cupboard.
79" × 91" Two of you on the sofa, or you want it working as a top layer over a bed rather than folded at the end of one. Also the pick if someone in the house is a blanket thief.

If you are torn and it is going on a bed, the larger one is the safer regret — an oversized blanket drapes, an undersized one just looks short.

Reversible — does that mean the back is the cheap side?

No. Both faces are finished to be seen, which is the whole point of buying a reversible blanket instead of a printed one. A single-sided throw has to be arranged. This one can be dropped and it still looks intentional.

    Works on Avoid
Sofas and armchairs, bed tops, window seats, spare-room bedding, floor picnics Hot washes, bleach, high-heat tumble drying, ironing over the pattern
Cool gentle machine cycle on its own or with like colors Washing it with zips and hooks, which is how edges get pulled

Cool wash, low spin, dry flat or over a rail. The skipped step is shaking it out before it dries — a reversible blanket that dries folded keeps a crease line straight through the garden pattern for weeks.

Flip it over and it is a different blanket, in the same room.

Here is the usual sequence. You buy a patterned throw, you love it for a season, and then the pattern starts to feel like the loudest thing in the room — but the blanket is fine, so it stays, and you quietly stop liking your sofa. The Floryn is built around that. One side carries the garden pattern; turn it and the second face takes over. Same blanket, different weight of pattern, no shopping.

Why a two-faced blanket outlasts a printed one

A print sits on the surface of a cloth. Wash it enough times and the top layer of dye goes, which is why a much-used printed throw looks faded on the fold lines first. A reversible construction puts the design into the structure of the fabric — the color on one face is the color that shows through as the ground on the other. There is no printed skin to wear off, so the blanket ages by getting softer rather than by getting paler.

It also means the edges are treated properly. A single-sided throw can hide a rough hem by always facing up. This one cannot, so the finish has to work from either direction — which is quietly the reason it still looks like a real blanket when it has been dragged half onto the floor.

    The two sizes in practice

    • 59" × 79" — the personal blanket. Fits an armchair without pooling, folds to a size that sits on a sofa arm, and travels to the couch, the porch and the car without being an event.
    • 79" × 91" — the shared blanket. Wide enough for two people on a sofa and deep enough to lie over a bed as a top layer with the garden face showing.
