Which size actually fits my table?
Take your tabletop measurements and add roughly 16 inches to each, giving about 8 inches of drop per side. That's the number that separates a dressed table from a table with a cloth on it.

One more thing, and it's the step people skip: cotton linen creases, by design. Take it out of the wash while damp and put it straight onto the table. It dries in place, flat and taut, and you never have to iron it.

Dinner in most houses starts with clearing: shifting the fruit bowl, wiping crumbs from breakfast, finding the ring where somebody put a mug down without a coaster. Why cotton linen hangs better than a smooth cloth
Slippery polyester tablecloths have one visible tell: they don't hang, they slide. The corners drift, the cloth creeps off one side of the table during a meal, and the drop never forms a straight vertical line. Cotton linen has weight and a slightly open, textured weave, so it falls straight down from the table edge and stays where you put it, even when somebody catches it with a knee.
The texture is doing something else too. A matte, slightly irregular surface hides the crumbs, water rings and small splashes that show instantly on a shiny cloth. It also means the cloth looks intentional when it's slightly rumpled, which is the state it will spend most of its life in — nobody irons a tablecloth on a Wednesday.
The woven stripes run the length of the cloth and the hem is finished with a row of small cream tassels, which is what stops it reading as a plain sheet of fabric once it's on the table.
